Underwriting Assistant (Insurance –Not Entry Level) | Midtown Manhattan | Temp-to-PermWe are seeking a junior Underwriting Assistant with 1–2 years of insurance experience to join our growing team in Midtown Manhattan. This is an entry-level role, but prior exposure to insurance underwriting or policy processing is required. Candidates without insurance experience will not be considered.Compensation:$21–$24/hour during the temporary period (based on experience)Conversion to full-time at $60,000 –$70,000 + benefitsKey Responsibilities:Support underwriters with new business submissions, quoting, binding, and policy maintenanceEnter and maintain data in Salesforce and underwriting systemsAssist with rating calculations and underwriting toolsProcess premium transactions and endorsementsPrepare renewal accounts, including gathering loss runs and documentationCoordinate with brokers and internal teams to support underwriting workflowRequired Qualifications:1–2 years of experience in the insurance industry (underwriting support, policy processing, brokerage, or similar)Basic understanding of insurance policies, binders, or coverageProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred (Nice to Have):Exposure to underwriting or rating processesSalesforce experienceAny experience with commercial lines or liability policiesWhat We’re Looking For:Someone early in their insurance career who wants to grow into underwritingDetail-oriented and eager to learnAble to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentTo Apply:Please email your resume to View email address on click.appcast.io line: Underwriting Assistant –1–2 Years Insurance Experience Only candidates with prior insurance experience will be considered.
