Electrical Assembly Lead - Nights

The Role Directs and coordinates activities of the assembly department by performing the following duties on the night shift. What you will be responsible for: Conduct safety weekly meeting (Toolbox) to build safety awareness in the workplace. Reinforce safety policy and rules, identifying potential hazards and reducing or eliminating them. Manage and control manpower, including attendance, to secure line capacity and meet delivery schedules. Interpret drawings/blueprints and communicate or instruct team members following standard work instructions and industrial standards (ISO9000, API661, etc.). Monitor quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan. Train or assist in training other employees in assembly processes. Provide supervision and work on units 80% of the time. Maintain basic shop knowledge of structure and assembly methods and procedures. Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates provided by management. Manage multiple projects and people to stay on time and under budget, tracking hours to ensure sufficient manpower. Prioritize tasks in a self‑directed and time‑managed manner. Maintain strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Be flexible and able to change tasks on a moment's notice. Document data and write clear daily or abnormal reports (including safety reports). Maintain regular attendance, punctual arrival, onsite presence, and willingness to work overtime. Work cooperatively with others and communicate respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, employees, managers, and executive management. Perform concurrent tasks in a fast‑paced environment and interchange roles within the department. Assist with inspection, operate hand tools, sign off on QC check sheets, and place units for inspection. Ensure QC check sheets comply with standards. Routine troubleshooting and problem solving, including improvement initiatives for long‑term solutions. Encourage continuous idea generation from team members for cost, time, and safety improvements. Ensure 5S (workplace organization method) is applied daily with good housekeeping. Maintain equipment up‑to‑date within required standards. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise up to 10 non‑supervisory employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities per Kelvion Inc. policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; address complaints, and resolve problems as assigned by the Production Manager. Competency or Position Requirements Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, data formats, and tools for sharing data across software programs. Understanding of office network environments, e‑mail, and internet. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for managing and leading the department. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to read and interpret drawings, manufacturing work instructions, and other company documents in English. Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) across units of measure, whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret bar graphs. Use advanced shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments. Interpret varied instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations. Work from standard process plans, blueprints, tool write‑ups, sketches, illustrations, and verbal information to assemble mechanical operations with close tolerances, fitting, and positioning. Perform initial assembly of parts using minor assembly and sub‑assembly tools to determine location, fit, and clearance of parts and to prove methods and work sequences.
