RN - PCU

Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong clinical background and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Surgical Post Critical Unit (PCU), managing patients with near ICU level acuity.
• Monitor patients with cardiac conditions, including cardiac monitoring and the administration of non-titratable cardiac drips.
• Manage care for patients with chest tubes, fresh tracheostomies, and feeding tubes.
• Administer care to postoperative patients and manage patients with epidurals.
• Oversee the administration and titration of IV insulin protocols and insulin drips.
• Provide care and management for patients requiring external BiPAP/CPAP support and post-operative checks, including Doppler flap assessments.
• May be required to float to different levels of care, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, with resources provided.
• Participate in charge nurse responsibilities as needed, with appropriate training and resources provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BCLS.
• Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac monitoring and managing complex patient needs.
• Ability to work every other weekend as stipulated in the contract, with flexibility to accommodate operational needs.
• Willingness to precept and/or support nursing students during assignments.

Staffing Ratios

The staffing ratio is typically 1:3-4, ensuring a manageable workload and allowing for high-quality patient care.

Refusal to float to other units may result in contract termination. It is imperative that applicants are comfortable with this requirement.
