Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a mixed acuity environment. The position will involve caring for both Medical Surgical (MS) and telemetry patients, with a focus on high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a mixed acuity setting.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings.
• Manage tracheostomy care and general patient needs.
• Ensure proper administration of medication and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care.
• Float to other units of equivalent or lower acuity as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current certifications in BCLS required; ACLS and OCN are preferred.
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry, tracheostomy management, and chemotherapy administration is a plus.
• Must have the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.

Unit Details

• Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
• Daily census typically averages 32 patients.
• Patient diagnoses include head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology, and brain tumors.
• Available support services include Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.

Additional Information

Shifts may vary and could include a combination of day and night assignments based on the department's needs. Candidates are required to have current acute care experience within the last 12 months. Compliance with credentialing processes is essential, and potential candidates must be prepared for immediate requirements related to fingerprinting as part of the hiring process.

References will be required, with at least one from a manager or formal leadership position.
