Electrical Power Project Manager (Medium Voltage Power Systems) Employee Status: Exempt Employment Status: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Project Manager to lead the execution of medium-voltage electrical infrastructure projects from project award through commissioning and final customer acceptance. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for customers while coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, field service, logistics, and executive leadership teams to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex electrical power projects involving medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, substations, protective relaying systems, utility interconnections, power distribution equipment, and mission-critical electrical infrastructure. This individual must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong customer relationships and driving schedule, budget, and quality objectives. Manage medium-voltage electrical power projects from contract award through commissioning and project closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, milestone tracking, procurement timelines, and execution plans. Coordinate activities between engineering, manufacturing, field service, construction teams, utilities, and customers. Lead project kickoff meetings and establish clear communication channels among stakeholders. Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies. Manage project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Oversee project documentation including submittals, drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and testing reports. Support startup, commissioning, energization, and final turnover activities. Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle. Lead regular project update meetings with customers, contractors, consulting engineers, utilities, and internal teams. Provide updates regarding engineering progress, equipment manufacturing, testing schedules, delivery timelines, and commissioning activities. Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through responsive communication and proactive issue resolution. Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning schedules. Technical Project Management Support projects involving: Medium Voltage Switchgear Power Transformers Unit Substations Protective Relays Motor Control Centers (MCCs) Utility Distribution Systems Backup Power Systems Electrical Distribution Equipment Renewable Energy Interconnections Data Center Power Infrastructure Review technical specifications, electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and equipment submittals. Ensure compliance with project requirements, utility standards, and applicable industry codes. Coordinate with engineering teams regarding equipment modifications, technical issues, and customer requirements. Monitor project financial performance and support margin objectives. Manage project scope changes, change orders, schedule impacts, and customer requests. Track project costs, billing milestones, and revenue forecasts. Provide regular project status reports to management. Maintain accurate project records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Mentor junior project managers and project coordinators. Support implementation of project management best practices and process improvements. Assist with resource planning and workload forecasting. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on project execution, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered. Experience 4+ years of Project Management experience within electrical power systems, utilities, medium-voltage infrastructure, industrial power distribution, mission-critical facilities, renewable energy, or utility construction environments. Experience managing projects involving medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, substations, power distribution systems, or utility infrastructure. Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities. Familiarity with utility, industrial, data center, renewable energy, or heavy commercial power projects preferred. Technical Skills Strong understanding of medium-voltage electrical systems and power distribution infrastructure. Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and construction documents. Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, and utility standards. Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, startup, and energization procedures. Strong project scheduling, risk management, and customer coordination skills.
