Traveling Inspector

Traveling Inspector Full‑time position requiring travel throughout the state to perform NFPA‑based inspections of water‑based fire systems and fire alarm systems. Essential Duties / Responsibilities Perform NFPA 25 inspections on wet, dry, deluge, pre‑action, standpipe systems, fire hydrants, and fire pumps. Perform NFPA 72 inspections on fire alarm systems, including all system components. Perform NFPA 10 inspections on fire extinguishers. Conduct basic troubleshooting of wet‑based fire systems and explain findings to owners and service managers. Perform basic troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. Monitor and ensure progress and completion of all assigned tasks. Complete and submit all work tickets and inspection reports to administrative personnel promptly. Self‑schedule daily inspections. Upsell company capabilities to new and existing customers. Perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30–40 feet when required. Conduct annual inspections on domestic and fire backflows. Education / Work Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years’ experience performing inspections. Vocational or industry trade school a plus. Ability to travel is required. Working knowledge of wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre‑action, standpipe, fire hydrants, and fire pumps. State license required to perform inspections on sprinkler, fire pump, hydrants, fire alarm, and fire extinguishers. Individual backflow license required. Knowledge of NFPA 10, 25, and 72 required. Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills required. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and scissors/articulating lifts required. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required. Ability to obtain all required certifications, including NICET, required. NICET Level II in water‑based or fire alarm systems is a plus. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds required. Experience using a tablet or smartphone required. Computer Skills Significant experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) applications required.
