Ultrasound Technologist (Night Shift)

\n

Location: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD

\n

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday | 11:00PM to 7:30AM

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Education : Completion of an Ultrasound education program approved by ARDMS
\n
• Certification :
\n
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
\n
• CPR (BLS) Certification
\n
• Experience :
\n
• Minimum of 2 years of post-training ultrasound experience
\n
• At least 1 year in a hospital setting
\n
• Note: Graduates who completed clinical training at WRNMMC may qualify under an entry-level contract exemption
\n
• Licensure : Valid, unrestricted license in at least one U.S. state or territory
\n

\n

Additional Requirements

\n

\n
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics
\n
• Proficient in general, vascular, and Doppler ultrasound procedures
\n
• Experience with PACS and MHS Genesis (Cerner) systems
\n
• Compliance with facility requirements including flu and COVID-19 vaccinations (unless exempt), and fit testing
\n

\n

• Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
\n
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
\n
• Varicella (Chickenpox)

\n
• Two (2) professional letters of recommendation dated within the last two years, attesting to clinical skills.
\n
• Must include reference’s name, title, phone number, date, address, and signature
\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Perform comprehensive ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to:
\n
• Abdomen, pelvis, obstetric (1st–3rd trimester), neonatal, vascular, thyroid, scrotal, and transplant imaging
\n
• Assist in interventional procedures in radiology, OR, and specialty clinics
\n
• Use and manage PACS and MHS Genesis (Cerner) systems
\n
• Respond to STAT and routine imaging orders; document findings using IPASS
\n
• Participate in staff training, competency assessments, and emergency protocols
\n
• Mentor student technologists and resident physicians
\n
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and all WRNMMC protocols
\n
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff for patient care coordination
\n
