Assistant Project Manager - Building Design

Position Overview HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group seeks an Assistant Project Manager to join our Charlotte, NC office. You will help design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age—data centers, commercial environments, and more—while driving energy efficiency, resilience, and sustainability. Your contributions will shape the future of the built environment and place HDR at the forefront of engineering innovation. Primary Location: United States - North Carolina - Charlotte Industry: Building Engineering Schedule: Full-time Employee Status: Regular Responsibilities On a day-to-day basis, the Assistant Project Manager will also be expected to: Coordinate work of single or multi-discipline teams throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under supervision of a Project Manager. Be responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project. Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule. Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Preference given to local candidates. PMP certification or PE license. Familiarity and/or experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Field, Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bluebeam. MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus). Familiarity with Google communication products (gDrive, Chat, Docs, Sheets, and Slides). Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. 5 years related experience. Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
