Job Overview Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Jeffrey Jones – Clackamas County Circuit Court, Oregon City, Oregon. Salary: $4,765–$5,517 per month for full‑time employees. Responsibilities Provide moderate to complex clerical support to Judge Jeffrey Jones and the Judicial Assistant. Process and verify accuracy of documents and records, both hard‑copy and electronic. Assist in courtroom proceedings for criminal, civil, and family law matters. Prepare court documents in accordance with legal requirements and court procedure. Maintain the judge’s library and perform limited legal research as directed. Determine necessary next steps for certain case types when appropriate. Manage juries and serve as liaison between jurors, court, and counsel for exhibits, forms, instructions, and questions. Advise litigants and attorneys on court procedures, case status, and the court calendar. Perform additional legal research or tasks as requested by the judge. Adapt assigned duties to meet changing workload and organizational needs. Benefits Medical insurance premiums paid at 95%–99% for full‑time employees (up to 99% for part‑time). Includes mental health coverage. Hourly equivalent of $27.49–$31.83 (or annual salary $57,183–$66,199). 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, and 3 personal business days. Qualifications Minimum: Enrolled in or possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Special: None. Requested Skills and Attributes Experience performing clerical or administrative support tasks, including data entry, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining accuracy in a noisy environment. Demonstrated tact and diplomacy when providing customer service to individuals in challenging circumstances. Ability to explain processes, procedures, or policies clearly. Strong writing and document reviewing skills for accuracy and completeness. Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials. Working Conditions Full‑time position (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday). Eligible for overtime pay beyond 40 hours per week. Occasional after‑hours or overtime work may be required. Frequent phone and in‑person contact with diverse individuals facing stressful situations. Use of telephone, dual‑monitor computer, copier, fax, and scanner.
