Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU / Preop (Travel Contract) | Rapid Response

Location

Los Alamos, NM | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with some on-call coverage on nights and weekends | Onsite | 6-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care for primarily adult patients in a 3-bed PACU unit, maintaining patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Serve in a shared capacity between PACU and Preop, supporting perioperative patient care throughout the surgical continuum
• Respond to on-call cases within 30 minutes of notification during nights and weekends as required
• Utilize facility EHR systems (CQI and Medhost) for accurate and timely documentation
• Care for common surgical presentations including appendectomy and cholecystectomy patients; participate in monthly ENT cases as scheduled
• Adhere to all facility dress code standards, including closed-toe shoes and natural fingernails

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• Ability to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance — this is a rapid response need

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Combined Preop and PACU experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with CQI and/or Medhost EHR platforms
• Experience caring for adult surgical populations in an acute care setting
