Maintenance Specialist 3rd Shift

Recommend equipment upgrades to improve safety, productivity and ease of operation. Tools and Equipment Typical devices, components and equipment addressed include, but are not limited to: induction coils for water leaks and electrical/control issues; vacuum systems for gas/air leaks and electrical/controls issues; motor starters and VFDs; hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic systems; pneumatic cylinders and pneumatic systems; PLC controls and electrical circuitry within control cabinets; HVAC equipment such as chillers, humidification units, compressed air systems, water and site electrical services. Materials Typical materials encountered include: steel in various geometries; electrical supplies (switches, wires, conduit, cabinets, fuses, motor starters, VFDs, contactors and similar devices); hydraulic oils, lubrication oils and greases; building supplies such as wood, sheetrock, Masonite, concrete and similar. Direction of Others Will work within a team environment and communicate with the team to complete assigned tasks. Working Procedure Perform teamwork troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis on complex equipment and/or subsystems involving mechanical, electrical or controls. Provide feedback on troubleshooting including possible solutions and required supplies. Execute approved solutions within the maintenance team. Minimize downtime by executing preventive maintenance and providing feedback for predictive maintenance. Follow all safety requirements as outlined on the job safety card. Use all required PPE and maintain a clean, orderly work environment. Handle hazardous waste per company procedures and report any deviations to the supervisor. Install machines requiring precise alignment due to interrelated work stations or sequential hydraulic operations. Maintain accurate paperwork and complete all forms and instruction sheets. Inform the supervisor about problems that occur during job tasks. Special Skills and/or Experience Completion of a Robotics or Mechatronics Cert. from Manchester Community College or comparable program; or successful completion of AMT100 (Manufacturing Processes), AMT115 (Reading and Interpreting Engineering Drawings), ETEC110 (Electrical Fundamentals), and AMT120 (Motor controls and PLCs for manufacturing) – a plus. Advanced Military Training School – a plus. Journeyman Electrician license – a plus. NFPA70E certification – a plus. Physical strength and dexterity to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. HVAC experience – a plus. Valid lift‑truck license as needed. Vision requirement of 20/30 near correctable and ability to differentiate colors. Must purchase own mechanic’s hand tools. Minimum Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Ability to pass Hitchiner mobile support equipment certification for forklifts, scissor‑lifts and similar vehicles.
