The Role The Catering Lead is responsible for overseeing the preparation and distribution of catering orders and for leading and mentoring staff. The Catering Lead will directly receive and prepare catering orders for clients, ensuring the accuracy of orders. This position is not tip eligible What You’ll Do Menu coordination for vendors and in‑house websites with validation of pricing, descriptions, and photos. Managing the Catering Portal and keeping it current, supporting the sales team with requests and challenges. Vendor management, including reporting, tracking, communication, and serving as subject‑matter expert for each vendor. Being responsible for the entire guest experience. Upholding food safety and quality standards. Cross‑training across the restaurant to ensure rapid growth. Leading and mentoring catering staff. Occasionally assisting with delivery of orders as assigned. Assisting with any additional duties assigned. The Skills Effectively asking fact‑finding questions both in person and via phone to uncover potential from all customers. Working and leading effectively with a high degree of autonomy. Excellent time‑management and priority‑management skills. High attention to detail; exemplary written and verbal communication skills. Highly motivated to succeed with passion and a sense of urgency. Previous experience in a similar position or in the restaurant business is helpful but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Physical Requirements Ability to bend and reach overhead often. Dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment. Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold. Comfortable working near open flames. May be required to work in tight spaces. Maintain near constant communication with multiple people. Good vision (near vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision) is required. Ability to sit, squat, and kneel occasionally. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. May be required to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions.
