Engineer II, Drug Product Development

Role Support drug product development for Moderna’s sterile biologics, focusing on process development, scale-up, and formulation optimization for clinical and future commercial supply. Responsibilities Conduct studies on manufacturing scale-up processes (freeze/thaw, mixing, lyophilization, transport) Evaluate material compatibility Collaborate on toxicology and stability fills Plan and execute experiments (including DoE) Troubleshoot manufacturing issues Perform characterization techniques (opacity testing, microscopy, particle sizing) Ensure long-term stability of vialed products, with documentation in ELN Qualifications Master’s or Bachelor’s in Chemical, Biochemical, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields 0-2 years post-Master’s or 2+ years post-Bachelor’s experience Strong lab skills Knowledge of DoE and nucleic acid chemistry advantageous Preferred BioPharma experience Nanoparticle formulation GMP familiarity Willingness to travel up to 20% High-Value Biologics mRNA modalities Clinical stage (preclinical or early-phase) Aseptic processing Process characterization Collaboration with analytical and manufacturing teams Work setup Collaborative environment with hybrid onsite/work-from-home model. #J-18808-Ljbffr Scorpion Therapeutics
