Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)Alexandria Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.Responsibilities include:Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflowsPerforming anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recoveryAssisting in surgeryPerforming dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiographyReviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionatelyBuilding strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive serviceSchedule and compensation:Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour, for each hour workedThis is a full or part-time position, with availability needed Monday-Friday and every other Saturday.Full-time Benefits Package*:Bonus package: $2,000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Minnesota.CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentialsHealth package: Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and disabilityEmployee Assistance Program401k with company matchPaid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable lawPersonal pet discountUniform allowance*Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state lawMinimum qualifications and skill set:1+ years of veterinary technician experience requiredActive and good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of MinnesotaProficiency in the following skills:Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoringAnesthetic induction, monitoring, and recoveryDental prophylaxis and dental radiographyVenipuncture and intravenous catheter placementRadiology positioning and safety protocolsMedication administration and accurate drug calculationsLaboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testingSafe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniquesClient education and communicationEffective teamwork and professional communication skills**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to applyWhy choose AlexandriaAlexandria Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, full-service hospital known for progressive medicine, compassionate care, and strong community relationships.
