Marathon Pipe Line (MPL) ROW Specialist roles and responsibilities include establishing and maintaining positive relations with landowners, municipalities, and agencies; negotiating agreements, enforcing land agreements in place, and ensuring compliance with existing agreements; and working with landowners, commercial businesses, contractors, and other company personnel to ensure Company assets are protected. This role may require up to 10% travel (25% if located outside of La Palma office). Our preferred locations are La Palma, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID, or San Antonio, TX.

Key responsibilities include:

• Serving as the primary contact for establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and resolving disputes to avoid legal action and media attention.
• Managing encroachments near company assets to protect them from damage and ensure all rights are preserved.
• Initiating the interpretation of agreements and easements, enforcing restrictions or rights, granting encroachment variances, and interfacing with field personnel, Law, and Management on executed agreements.
• Supporting project work by negotiating and securing pipeline rights-of-way, surface leases, easements, permits, and related agreements to support scope of work.
• Serving as a support contact for Community Relations, compensation, and claims handling within the Incident Command Structure for Emergency Response efforts.
• Negotiating and issuing damage payments with stakeholders.
• Providing consultative advice in developing Public Awareness information, policies, plans, and programs, participating in Public Awareness presentations, and supporting Public Engagement events.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of related pipeline or ROW experience (contract land agent, in-house ROW or pipeline operations, pipeline project management experience, or title research or documentation) required.

• Preferred locations of La Palma, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID, or San Antonio, TX.
• This role may require up to 10% travel (25% if located outside of the La Palma office).

• Valid driver's license required.
