The Prep Cook plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment while assisting in the preparation of traditional dim sum dishes. These positions help ensure smooth kitchen operations by handling cleaning duties and food prep with attention to hygiene and quality. Dumpling prep is a full time position that requires 1 year previous dim sum prep experience. This position requires that you know how to make dumplings from scratch. We also have other positions in prep available such as Sauce, Meat and Veg prep. All food is prepared in a commissary kitchen and is packed and shipped to the restaurants we are providing food to.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize kitchen utensils, cookware, and dishes promptly and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dishwashing areas to meet health and safety standards
- Prepare ingredients for dim sum items, including dough handling and filling assembly
- Assist chefs with basic food prep tasks such as chopping and portioning ingredients
- Monitor the supply of cleaning agents and kitchen materials, reporting shortages
- Dispose of waste materials properly and support kitchen sanitation efforts
- Operate dishwashing machines and maintain their cleanliness
