Kamatics is seeking a Surface Prep Technician who is responsible for preparing aerospace components for downstream manufacturing processes through abrasive blasting, masking, and material handling activities. This role operates abrasive blasting equipment, follows standardized work instructions, and ensures all work meets quality, safety, and traceability requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment.

• Set up and operate abrasive blasting equipment under the guidance of experienced team members and area leadership.
• Prepare and protect components using manual masking techniques and designated fixtures.
• Handle materials and components with care while maintaining strict product traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
• Follow established work instructions and standard operating procedures to meet quality and productivity expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles and company safety standards.
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and promptly report any safety concerns or incidents.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support production goals and deliver a high level of service to internal and external customers.
• Cross-train in other manufacturing operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• 0–1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow written and visual work instructions.
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment or hand tools is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Occasional sitting.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and safely operate manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

M-F 6:00am - 3:30pm, one our of mandatory overtime per day from 6-7am.
