Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications via a variety of routes and manage IV therapy using Alaris IV pumps
• Provide wound, line, and drain care with thorough documentation in Epic EMR
• Float across multiple Med-Surg units and campuses within the Med-Surg cluster as assigned, receiving daily unit assignments at the start of each shift
• Care for patients across Med-Surg specialty areas including oncology, cardiac, neuro, trauma, observation, medical behavioral, and general Med-Surg
• Utilize facility equipment including Accudose Rx medication dispensing systems and Philips vitals machines

Required Qualifications

• Active North Dakota RN license or compact state RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in a large, fast-paced hospital (200+ beds)
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Willingness and ability to float across Med-Surg units and between campuses in Fargo
• Experience in a Level 2 or higher trauma center

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a hospital with 250 or more beds
• First-time travelers with primary experience in a Resource Pool or Float Pool will be considered
