Excavation Foreman

We are seeking a highly motivated Excavation Foreman to lead and support our excavation crews on a variety of electrical utility projects. This role combines field leadership, equipment operation, and project coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work. Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and oversee excavation crews across multiple job sites. Operate and oversee various sizes and weights of excavation equipment. Load, haul, and unload materials to and from job sites. Train and mentor crew on safety and equipment use. Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer requirements. Interpret engineering plans, drawings, and survey markings. Collaborate with Project Managers and Foremen to review project plans and resolve issues. Secure work sites and materials according to company policy. Perform manual excavation labor as needed. Promote strong communication with internal teams, contractors, and the public. Troubleshoot field issues to meet code and project requirements. Qualifications 3–5 years of heavy equipment operation experience. 1–3 years of lead experience. Experience with electrical utility excavation preferred. Experience in reading grade stakes and elevations. Experience with trench safety and compaction. Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman License preferred. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Current DOT medical card (or ability to obtain). CDL preferred but not required. Ability to lift/move 50 lbs. and work in all weather conditions. Strong understanding of construction hazards and safe work practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Must pass a drug test and background check.
