Quality Inspectors use a variety of tools for measurement, verification, and testing, as well as monitor repairs that arise during the manufacturing process. Initial primary responsibilities will be geared towards the qualify of upstream processes and departments outside of the hand weld bay to include; bar lines, plasma's, detail parts, panel, secondary, trim and shipping.In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies and contributing to the company's Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment the following briefly describes the activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed.Perform and coordinate product and process inspectionsTroubleshoot daily issues which impact part qualityAssist in maintaining quality through training new and existing Machine Operators and WeldersActively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activitiesPerform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum:High school diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill levelSkills & CompetenciesStrong computer skillsResearch and problem-solving skillsGood interpersonal skills and ability to work within a teamAbility to work and learn independentlyAbility to read and understand blueprints, fab ref drawings, and DRW'sUnderstanding of all weld defects and flaws common to gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW) as outlined is ASW D1.1Working knowledge of the techniques and proper use of various types of weld measuring devices used in product inspection and testingFamiliarity with outside agency codes, standards, testing procedures, processes and shop practices.Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and commonly used industry terminologyThe preceding job responsibilities and tasks were designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this job.
