Surgical Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days

The Surgical Technologist prepares the equipment, instruments, and supplies during surgery, as well as protects the sterile area. Incumbents must have a clear understanding of the surgical procedure being performed to anticipate the needs of the performing surgeon.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by understanding the surgical procedure.
• Assist in the preparation of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Ensure the availability and functionality of surgical equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by CAAHEP or ABHES, or certification from NBSTA is required.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical record documentation preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 3 to 5 years of surgical technologist experience required.
