Responsibilities: 1. Follows nursing assistant plan of care established by the Registered Nurse within a specified timeframe; including, but not limited to, mouth care, bathing, AM and PM care, assistance with ambulation, transfers to chair and/or bed, taking and documenting vital signs, and recording accurate intake and output. Documents all patient care delivered according to established policies and procedures.
2. Performs duties with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the assigned units.
3. Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
4. Communicate relevant patient information to a professional nurse within an appropriate time based on the level of urgency. Report problems immediately to a professional nurse.
5. Answer intercom or call lights in a timely, courteous manner, with appropriate communication to the patient and/or professional nurse.
6. Performs patient care based on established guidelines for diagnostic and therapeutic exams; i.e., NPO for labs or x-rays, OR, diet changes related to tests, enema-related tests.
7. Perform safety and suicide precaution sitter duties as assigned.
8. Assists other members of the nursing team and/or ancillary departments as requested.
9. All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities. Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: (Must meet ONE)
- Completed training (CNA, MA, or PCT course).
- Completed a Clinical Lab Simulation (must have official transcript).
- Active or recent CNA certification (any state).
- 1+ year of work experience in direct patient care (HHA, MA, PCT, or Nursing Asst).
