Radiation Therapist

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist administers radiation treatments, performs simulations, and oversees dosimetry functions. This position requires independent judgment and initiative, ensuring proper care of clients in adherence to departmental and hospital policies. The therapist performs radiation therapy treatments under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist and is responsible for managing daily treatment schedules on clinical equipment. Familiarity with safety protocols in clinical areas is essential. The therapist collaborates closely with reception, nursing, and physician teams to provide comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation treatments and perform simulations.
• Fabricate blocks in preparation for treatment.
• Update procedure manuals as necessary.
• Manage daily treatment schedules for all assignments.
• Maintain familiarity with all safety features in clinical areas.
• Work collaboratively with reception, nursing, and physician teams.

Schedule

This position operates on a 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule, with 8-hour days for a total of 40 hours per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience required.
• Current Massachusetts Radiology license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active American Registration of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Ability to work independently in high-stress, work-intensive environments.
