Laboratory Coordinator - Ambulatory Point of Care

The laboratories of IU Health offer some of the most comprehensive laboratory services in Indiana, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and performing more than 19 million tests a year. In addition to IU Health, laboratory testing services are provided to hospitals and physicians across the country. Shift Full‑Time, Days Hours 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Flexible), Monday ‑ Friday NOTE Requires travel across the system to clinics as needed using a personal vehicle. Mileage reimbursement available. Responsibilities and Duties The Laboratory Coordinator for Point of Care – Ambulatory will serve as a triage and problem solver for routine laboratory operations. They will ensure that measuring and monitoring metrics are in place to maintain accuracy, work with leaders to develop quality monitors, and serve as a general technical resource for team members. The Coordinator performs training for team members within CLIA standards and handles all necessary duties related to specimen processing for diagnostic and research purposes. May perform laboratory testing as appropriate within CLIA standards and develop and maintain laboratory records as needed. Qualifications Ability to meet the guidelines as defined by CLIA‑88 to perform moderate complexity testing. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting. Associate’s degree in medical laboratory technology or related science preferred. Knowledge of the pre‑ and post‑analytical phases of laboratory testing. Proficiency in using the laboratory computer system for data entry. Working knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and routine maintenance procedures. Ability to maintain quality control and other records. Knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols. Ability to explain instructions in simple terminology. Ability to organize and process a high volume of work within established standards. Benefits Increased pay scale for bedside nurses. 401(K) retirement savings with employer match.
