The Tech - Mammography position may be the right imaging position for you. At Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health, we use the most advanced technology available to provide screening mammograms and aid in the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Join our team and become a part of supporting breast health in our Upstate communities.We are a comprehensive breast imaging center providing services across nine fixed locations and two Mobile Mammography Units. The expert and caring staff at Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health are fellowship-trained, board-certified specialists who focus on breast health. We conduct hundreds of mammograms each week and diagnose and treat more than four hundred patients each year.Under the supervision of a Radiologist, you will utilize specialized knowledge and skills to produce high-quality mammographic images for screening and/or diagnosis, invasive breast procedures, and DEXA exams for specified patient population. As an imaging professional, you'll be aligned with the latest technology, evidence-based medicine, and clinical research.How do we set you up for success? For technologists with no prior mammography experience we offer a comprehensive 12-week training program that will equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to provide high-quality breast care. For experienced technologists we provide an abbreviated training program that includes a comprehensive review of our protocols, machines, and IT platforms. Whether you are experienced in mammography or looking to enter into a new chapter, we believe in setting all members of our team up for success! We look forward to reviewing your application!Position Summary Under the supervision of a Radiologist, utilizes specialized knowledge and skills to produce high quality mammographic images for screening and/or diagnosis, invasive breast procedures and DEXA exams for specified patient population. Assumes responsibility for directing and controlling qualitative and quantitative standards of work performed at Bearden-Josey Centers of Breast Health.Minimum RequirementsAssociate's Degree from an approved AMA School of Radiologic TechnologyDocumented 40 hours of training specific to mammography as required by the FDADocumented 8 hours training in each mammography modality to be used to perform exam as required by the FDADocumented performance of 200 mammogram exams in the last two years as required by the FDADocumented 15 hours of continuing education, 3 years consecutively as required by the FDALicense/Registration/CertificationsARRT registry in Radiography with registry or registry eligible status in MammographySouth Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association LicensesCurrent Basis Life Support (CPR and AED) providerCore Job ResponsibilitiesPerform screening and/or diagnostic mammograms and bone densitometry examsAssist radiologist with invasive breast proceduresReview images for quality and tissue acquisitionExplain procedure to patient reducing anxieties and obtain patient history relevant to examAs requested by radiologist communicate results to patientOpen communication with scheduling and registration to ensure appropriate physician order is obtainedEngagement with Breast Imaging Navigator as needed to assist with further patient needs or appointmentsGeneral equipment assessment, reporting any issues to BreastOther Duties as assigned
