As a Full-Time Asphalt Plant Operator at J T Russell & Sons, you will operate the asphalt plant safely and efficiently, ensuring top-tier production standards. Your responsibilities include taking asphalt orders from customers, loading and ticketing trucks, and managing onsite inventory to streamline operations. You’ll prepare daily reports and compile tickets to maintain accurate records. Additionally, you'll play a key role in keeping the plant and loader in optimal condition through regular maintenance and cleaning. This diverse range of duties ensures that you are actively contributing to a productive work environment while enhancing your skills in the construction industry.

To thrive as a Full-Time Asphalt Plant Operator at J T Russell & Sons, you’ll need a robust skill set that ensures both safety and efficiency. With 3+ years of experience in asphalt operations, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of asphalt plants, along with the required safety standards. Your ability to operate and maintain equipment is crucial, as is your keen attention to detail and situational awareness. Physical stamina is required, as you must be able to stand for extended periods and engage in manual labor when necessary.

You'll also need to interact respectfully with co-workers, customers, and the public, demonstrating strong communication skills. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are preferred for your daily commute to the asphalt plant. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• 3+ years of experience working as an Asphalt Plant Operator
• Ensure to do your part to make sure the company can produce NCDOT certified mix in the safest and most cost efficient way possible
• Knowledge of proper operation of asphalt plants and accompanying equipment as well as safety standards
• Willing to perform some manual labor as needed and directed by supervisor
• Deals with co-workers, customer, and public in a respectful manner
• Reliable transportation to and from the Mint Hill Asphalt Plant
• Valid driver’s license preferred
