Shop Manager

Job Title: Shop Manager Job Description: J&A Glass is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to fill the role of Shop Manager. This is a full-time position, with a competitive starting wage and opportunities for advancement within the company. Responsibilities: * Manage shipping and receiving by coordinating with project managers and suppliers. * Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment. * Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure maintenance of fleet vehicles. * Assist in the fabrication of storefront, curtain wall, and doors. * Learn to cut and fabricate glass and mirrors to train future shop hands. * Clean and organize shop areas as needed. * Utilize a forklift and manual labor to load, offload, and deliver materials to work sites. * Assist with brake metal fabrication. * Identify and report issues with work material. * Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Requirements: * Commercial Storefront Fabrication and Glass Cutting experience preferred but not required. * Comfort using technology as well as power tools and fabrication equipment. * 1-2 years of basic construction or warehouse labor experience * Valid ID and driver's license free of major accidents and DUIs * Must be 18 years of age or older. * Ability to lift up to 70 pounds. * Must be punctual, dependable, and have a positive attitude. * Quickly trained for forklift license. * Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication sheets. * Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and travel to work sites out of the area as needed. * A job for which military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. * Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED or college diploma. * An excellent job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
