Senior Software Engineer - Mobile Development

CIBC is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead iOS development in the Private, Personal, and Digital Banking Technology team in the US Region. Responsibilities As the Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the technical design, development (iOS primarily with some Android), and integration of cross‑functional, multi‑platform application systems, providing enhancements to existing technologies. How You’ll Succeed Technical Excellence: Design and ship secure, scalable solutions across the stack, focusing on iOS mobile applications; guide architecture within your domain, drive automation, comprehensive testing, CI/CD, and observability while reducing technical debt and improving performance and reliability. Industry and Domain Impact: Leverage current industry trends to drive measurable process and product improvements, making data‑driven trade‑offs and recommendations. Risk and Compliance: Conduct project‑level risk assessments, define and execute mitigation plans, and embed security and privacy‑by‑design; ensure adherence to policies, regulatory requirements, and partner with Compliance and Audit for effective oversight. Stakeholder and Team Management: Build strong relationships across product, design, operations, and partner teams; communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly and influence cross‑functional outcomes. Qualifications Extensive experience developing mobile applications on the iOS platform and integrating with Java‑based backend services in a cloud/containerized environment, ideally within financial services or technology. Demonstrated ownership mindset; thrive when empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results. Attention to detail, strong critical‑thinking skills, and a focus on the details of successful solutions. Excellent communication skills with effective engagement at all organizational levels. Benefits & Compensation Base salary range: $150,000 – $170,000 (based on experience, qualifications, and location).
