We serve a wide range of industries with innovative, reliable, and efficient automation technologies.Position OverviewWe're looking for a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to lead full-cycle automation projects—from concept and design through programming, integration, and on-site commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in robotics, PLCs, motion control, and vision systems, and will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to deliver best-in-class solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead automation controls projects from design to commissioningDesign and troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and safety circuitsProgram and integrate industrial robots (Fanuc, Motoman/Yaskawa, ABB, etc.)Develop PLC and HMI logic using platforms such as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and SiemensIntegrate machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) for detection and quality controlDefine control system architecture: I/O, BOMs, network topologies, and safety systemsOversee panel build inspections, FAT, installation, and on-site startupProvide troubleshooting support and perform system upgrades as neededAssist in estimating and quoting for electrical and controls scopes of workPreferred Skills & ExperienceRobotic programming and integration (Fanuc, Motoman/Yaskawa, ABB)Multi-axis motion control and servo systems experienceProficient in Rockwell (RSLogix 500/5000, Studio 5000) and Siemens (TIA Portal, S7)Familiarity with vision systems like Cognex or KeyenceKnowledge of VFDs and drive systems (PowerFlex, SINAMICS, ABB)Understanding of industrial networks and protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet)Strong project management and customer communication skillsWillingness to travel for site support and commissioningWhy South Shore Controls?Innovative project work with leading automation technologiesSupportive, team-oriented environmentOpportunities for professional growth and advancementCompetitive compensation and benefits packageReady to Apply?
