Information Technology Specialist

Technology Specialist Location: District Wide Reports To: Director of Information Technology Start Date: To Be Determined Primary Function: The Technology Specialist provides schools with on-site end user computing support, including investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, network and instructional technology incidents. The Technology Specialist will be knowledgeable and accountable for ensuring data security and digital safety for our students. Requirements: Educational Level: High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree; preferred Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated relevant experience required. Relevant experience can include providing end user support in an enterprise level organization administering a Windows or Mac computing environment, or working with WAN/LAN environments Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, ability to deal with multiple tasks, organizational skills and basic understanding of technology hardware, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, chrome books, ipads, printers, projectors, smartboards, scanners and digital cameras. Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities and ability to lift 75 pounds. General: Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance. Demonstrates professionalism by reporting to work and assigned duties on time. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer applications as applicable to job responsibilities. Demonstrates appropriate verbal and written communication skills. Act in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues; adheres to cultural diversity guidelines, and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service. Complies with school system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements. Maintains and improves knowledge and skills to promote proficiency in the operations of an organized, modern, updated and efficient school. Participates in professional organizations, workshops, and staff development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision. Exhibits time on task and a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hardworking attitude and style. Monitors compliance with policies and laws concerning areas of responsibility. Technology: Performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direction or supervision. Maintains a maintenance and repair schedule of computer hardware. Supports technology needs of all department and all school locations. Adheres to guidelines of network security. Installs and maintains computer hardware, software and peripherals incorporating the various configurations used in the system facilities. Provides technical support for school personnel on hardware, software, networking, and operating system software in system facilities.
