Litigation Associate Attorney – New York City

\n \nThe Cook Group is seeking an associate with approximately 1–3 years of experience to join our growing New York City office. This role offers a strong opportunity for a developing attorney to build practical litigation skills through hands-on work on complex civil matters, including mass tort, asbestos, toxic tort, product liability, and insurance defense cases.
\n \nWorking alongside experienced litigators across multiple jurisdictions, this position provides meaningful exposure to all phases of litigation and the opportunity to develop professionally within a collaborative national platform.
\n \nThe Cook Group is a national law firm with offices in New York City, Buffalo, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Morgantown, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis.

\n \nWhat You’ll Do
\n• Assist with the management of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
\n• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
\n• Conduct legal research and assist with defense strategy development
\n• Participate in depositions, court appearances, and client communications
\n• Prepare reporting to clients and insurers
\n• Support trial preparation and case development efforts
\n• Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters

\n• J.D. from an accredited law school
\n• Active admission to the New York State Bar required
\n• Approximately 1–3 years of civil litigation experience preferred
\n• Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
\n• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
\n• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
\n• Eagerness to learn and develop litigation skills through hands-on experience
\n• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
