Project Design EngineerVertiv is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Design Engineer to join our team. The Project Design Engineer will be responsible for development and creation of new service opportunities, managing one-time projects, and designing innovative new kits and service hardware tools. This role will focus on the development of various engineering solutions, with a particular emphasis on creating functional products and tools that meet performance and quality standards. The Project Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of product designs and enhancements across a range of projects.Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of new service kits and service hardware tools, ensuring they meet functional and performance requirements.Manage and execute one-time project opportunities, from conceptualization to successful implementation.Collaborate with internal teams to define product specifications, components, and requirements for new kits and tooling.Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate new designs and ensure robustness, safety, and reliability.Work with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production for retro fits kits to new tools and product kits.Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout the development process, resolving any design or production issues that may arise.Create and maintain detailed documentation for designs, including specifications, reports, and test results.Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency in the design and production of service tooling and kits.Develop and create product design improvement for the products that Vertiv services to prolong product life.Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, company guidelines, and safety protocols.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components required for new designs.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, or a related field) required.
