Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nursing Specialist in Wisconsin. This position involves providing comprehensive care in an obstetrics setting within a Level 1 maternity and nursery unit. The role requires adaptability to variable schedules, high patient acuity, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities utilizing clinical expertise.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour day/night variable shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), minimum of 2 years of OB with Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience, and at least 1 travel assignment experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: AWHONN certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Float: OB and Labor & Delivery (L&D) float to Medical/Surgical, Emergency Room, or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for non-patient assignment tasks if needed.
• Additional Information: The unit features two labor rooms and six post-partum beds, with a patient ratio aligned with Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) guidelines. The typical delivery rate is approximately 10 per month, with highly variable daily census. The team handles labor, post-partum, and newborn nursery care without separate units, maintaining a supportive team-oriented environment. Candidate attributes include resilience, confidence, teamwork, and social skill, with scrub colors provided if surgical procedures are performed.
