Join Our Team as a Substation Commissioning Manager
Are you passionate about renewable energy and ready to lead complex projects from start to finish? We are seeking a Substation Commissioning Manager to join our team in beautiful Juno Beach, FL. This role offers the opportunity to oversee utility-scale energy projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, design, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level commissioning leadership and technical oversight for complex, utility-scale energy projects.
- Act as the Owner's representative from mechanical completion through energization, startup, performance testing, and final turnover.
- Lead execution of commissioning strategies across multiple systems or project scopes.
- Interface directly with EPC leadership, OEMs, utilities, ISOs, and third-party vendors.
- Drive resolution of complex technical, controls, and grid-interconnection issues.
- Oversee commissioning execution and sequencing, support PPA and GIA/LGIA testing, and guide system walkdowns and deficiency resolution.
- Review and execute commissioning procedures and schedules, validate test results, and provide expert-level troubleshooting support.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction startup and commissioning.
- Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge, including NEC and NFPA.
- Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting.
- E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting.
- Drawing review quality control inspection.
- Proficiency in Outlook, PDF edit, Word, Excel, document control systems, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferences
- 3 years of experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction startup and commissioning.
- Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues.
- Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once.
