Registered Nurse (RN) - 13-Week Contract Position

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, focusing on patient and employee safety at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program by utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and begin patient education.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and participate in team building activities.
• Prioritize activities and plan for effective use of time and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift schedule, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each week.
