ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture precision metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and make machine adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts.
- Deburr, clean, and inspect finished components.
- Replace worn cutting tools as needed.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Technical certificate in machining or a related field preferred, or at least 12 months of CNC machining experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, procedure manuals, and safety guidelines.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and shop trigonometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and make real-time decisions in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
- Ability to write basic production and quality reports.
