Accounting Technician I

Responsibilities Performs a variety of accounting tasks along with administrative and clerical support, technical accounts processing, and financial recording duties. Maintains, analyzes, and reconciles projects. Creates and maintains financial databases, project spreadsheets, and project files. Processes accounts receivables in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Ensures the proper receipting of fees. Performs data entry. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by college level course work in accounting, bookkeeping, computer science, or closely related field, and At least two (2) years of fiscal accounting experience, including automated accounting tools; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience. Clerical testing will be required during the interview process for selected candidates. Skills Knowledge and application of accounting and budgetary principles to the maintenance of standard fiscal and accounting records. Proficiency in the use of Excel. Oral and written communication and customer service skills. Attention to detail.
