What You'll Do

  • Use the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care in the PACU setting
  • Assess and monitor patient recovery post-surgery, including vital signs and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and recovery expectations
  • Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly
  • Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations, standards, and protocols
  • Support unit and facility goals by contributing to a cooperative team environment

What You Need

  • Current Louisiana RN license
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • 2+ years of PACU or perioperative nursing experience
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications from the American Heart Association/Crisis Prevention Institute
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in medical documentation software and web applications

This assignment is with a leading healthcare facility in Shreveport, LA. The PACU nurse will be responsible for ensuring smooth and safe recovery for post-surgical patients, providing expert care while collaborating with surgical and anesthesia teams.
