Step into a rewarding position supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school-based setting near Naperville, IL! Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Illinois teaching license and certification for the visually impaired
- CTE (Career and Technical Education) endorsement required
- Previous experience within a school environment
- Proficiency in conducting functional vision and media assessments
- Comfortable performing classroom observations
- Thorough understanding of best practices for visually impaired student support
- Strong communication, collaboration, and assessment skills
- Must be available for a 30-minute interview
- Open to on-site work only (no virtual/VOCO services)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough functional vision and media assessments for student evaluations
- Observe students in classroom settings to gather data that will inform recommendations
- Collaborate with educational and support staff to ensure holistic assessments
- Provide expert insights that will contribute to students’ individualized learning plans
- Maintain precise documentation and clear reporting on findings
