Job Description

Pendleton has been woven in the West since 1863. Built on a legacy of craft, quality, and authenticity, our products are known for their timeless design and enduring stories.

The Production Supervisor helps lead the people and daily operations behind Pendleton’s blankets. This role coordinates production, develops employees, and keeps the department focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery. Working in a union manufacturing environment, you’ll bring a hands-on approach to supporting your team, solving problems, and maintaining clear, consistent expectations.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and support production employees, providing clear direction, feedback, and coaching.
  • Train employees on job tasks and operating procedures, verifying their understanding and ability to apply what they’ve learned.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly and respectfully.
  • Promote teamwork, employee development, and accountability through an active presence on the production floor.

Production & Daily Operations

  • Coordinate daily production activities, assign work, and set priorities to meet department goals.
  • Adjust staffing and workloads as production needs change.
  • Monitor production performance and keep operations focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
  • Lead daily shift meetings to communicate priorities, expectations, and operational updates.

Employee Accountability & Documentation

  • Apply company policies, work rules, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement consistently and fairly.
  • Address performance, attendance, and behavior concerns directly, with appropriate follow-through.
  • Administer progressive discipline according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and objective records of employee performance, attendance, and incidents.
  • Review timekeeping and enforce attendance requirements.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor product quality and ensure blankets meet established specifications.
  • Track department performance measures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
  • Support Lean and other continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain required quality documentation and support Quality Management System requirements and audits.

Safety & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Reinforce safety policies, operating procedures, and required PPE.
  • Address unsafe conditions immediately and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues, partnering with Maintenance and other departments to maintain production flow.
  • Communicate clearly across teams and use sound judgment when responding to changing priorities.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of production management experience, preferably overseeing multiple shifts in a union manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and experience enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience coaching employees, managing performance, administering corrective action, and maintaining employee documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead a diverse workforce, address concerns professionally, and apply expectations consistently.
  • Experience monitoring production KPIs and helping teams achieve performance goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook and Excel, and the ability to use timekeeping and other business systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean or similar continuous improvement practices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or an equivalent Quality Management System is preferred.

This role works primarily on the textile production floor, with exposure to industrial machinery, moving equipment, noise, airborne textile fibers, and varying temperatures. Work involves frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the facility, along with occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials. Hearing protection, safety footwear, and other required PPE must be worn.
