Position Overview & Schedule Structure

This is a unique  dual-location, full-time role  designed to maximize patient access and optimize doctor chair utilization across both thriving communities. The weekly schedule consists of a 5-day work week distributed as follows:

• Split-Location Flow: 2 to 3 days per week at our Clinton Township practice, and 2 to 3 days per week at our Troy practice (alternating/set weekly rotation).

• Weekend Anchor:   Saturdays are an absolute must , as this represents our peak patient volume and highest retail capture opportunities.

Core Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Eye Care: Perform high-quality visual refractions, comprehensive ocular health examinations, and contact lens fittings (including specialty/toric evaluations).

• Medical Optometry: Diagnose, treat, and manage ocular diseases, emergencies, and co-manage pre/post-operative care (LASIK/Cataract) with local ophthalmology networks.

• The Perfect Hand-Off: Partner closely with our licensed opticians on the retail floor. Execute clear, professional hand-offs at the exam lane door, translating clinical findings into clear product recommendations (e.g., premium anti-reflective coatings, photochromics, lifestyle secondary pairs).

• Practice Capacity Growth: Maintain a steady exam pace to actively support our store's Capacity Capture Index (CCI) and chair utilization goals, maximizing the patient pipeline.

• Electronic Health Records: Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters within our digital EHR system.

Qualifications & Skills

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry.

• Active license to practice optometry in the State of Michigan (or license in progress).

• Strong verbal communication skills with a natural ability to connect with patients and seamlessly collaborate with optical retail staff.

• A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a commitment to anchor our critical Saturday clinic hours.
