Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Associate works in a busy warehouse environment handling incoming and outgoing electrical supplies. This role focuses on accurately packaging, labeling, loading, and unloading materials while using computer and scanning systems to manage inventory and coordinate shipments with vendors and customers. The position requires strong attention to detail, comfort with physical work, and the ability to work variable hours based on workload.

Responsibilities

• Work in either the shipping or receiving area of the warehouse, depending on operational needs.
• Package and ship electrical supplies, ranging from small boxes and labeled parts to large electrical spools of non-live wiring.
• Prepare materials for internal processing and inventory or for outbound shipments to customers.
• Load and unload trucks and flatbeds safely and efficiently in the loading and receiving areas.
• Use scanners and computer systems to receive products, input data, and update inventory records accurately.
• Set up shipments in the computer system and coordinate with vendors regarding schedules, documentation, and delivery details.
• Track inventory levels using computer and RF scanner systems and assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.
• Unpack incoming orders, verify quantities and part numbers, and ensure accuracy against packing lists and system records.
• Pack outgoing orders securely, label shipments correctly, and prepare them for pick-up or transport.
• Perform order picking and material handling tasks, including staging, sorting, and organizing products in the warehouse.
• Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed to move products safely.
• Perform data entry related to shipping, receiving, and inventory in systems such as SAP or similar warehouse software.
• Handle heavy lifting and manual material handling while following safe lifting practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shipping and receiving zones.
• Stay until daily work is completed, which may involve working 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts based on workload.
• Work weekends when business demands require additional coverage.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Rayville,LA.
