Yard Maintenance & Facility Support Technician Start Date: Immediate, based on availability Location: Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 Compensation: Hourly, and Weekly Pay Status: Full-time, non-exempt Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift with overtime as needed Benefits: Paid Vacation; 401 (k) with company match; and health, dental, and vision insurance, and short-term disability Job Summary The Yard Maintenance & Facility Support Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the facility and surrounding property. This position performs routine janitorial services, grounds maintenance, and provides general labor support to operations, maintenance, and equipment personnel as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and willing to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Clean and maintainthe driver breakroom and officeareas. Cleanand organize themaintenance shop. Clean the scalehouse, scale room, and office spaces. Empty trash receptaclesand replace liners. Maintain cleanliness ofcommon areas toensure a safeand professional workenvironment. Yard & Transfer StationResponsibilities Pick up litterand debris throughoutthe property. Remove debris thathas blown fromcompany property ontoadjacent roadways andparking areas. Fill potholes andmaintain gravel lotsto promote safevehicle and pedestriantraffic. Keep the yardclean, organized, andpresentable. Perform general groundsmaintenance asassigned. Seasonal Responsibilities Shovel snow fromwalkways, entrances,and work areas. Apply salt insiste melt tomaintain safe walkingand drivingsurfaces. Assist with otherwinter-relatedmaintenance and cleanupactivities. Education and Experience High School Diplomaor Above Previous janitorial, groundsmaintenance, or generallabor experience ispreferred but notrequired. Skills and Qualifications Ability toperform physically demandingwork, including lifting, bending, walking, andworking outdoors. Ability to safelylift and carryheavy materials withassistance when required. Strong work ethicwith the abilityto work independentlyand as partof a team. Dependable attendance andpunctuality. Ability to followsafety procedures andcompany policies. Work Environment and Conditions Work is performedboth indoors andoutdoors in allweather conditions. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, andmanual labor. Exposure to dust,dirt, noise, andmoving equipment inan industrial environment. Appropriate personal protectiveequipment (PPE) must beworn as required.
