Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills. Description: This position involves working in an emergency room float pool. Travelers are expected to float within the designated zone as needed. The role requires the ability to manage a variety of patient diagnoses, including abdominal pain, diabetes, trauma, and stroke. Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary based on acuity, typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:5. The emergency department handles 6 to 49 patients per day, depending on location. There is no home base facility; all travelers will float within the assigned zone. Nurses may be required to read telemetry strips as there are no monitor techs available. Point of care lab testing will be performed by the registered nurses. Weekend and holiday scheduling will occur on an every-other basis. All shifts are 12 hours in length. Team members are expected to work collaboratively with support staff, including techs who assist with various duties. Strong documentation skills are essential, and EPIC is the charting system used. Applicants should possess the ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving work environment.
