FROZEN FOOD/LEAD CLERK

Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Frozen Foods operations. Responsibilities Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the department and support Frozen Foods operations. Provide outstanding customer service and lead by example to deliver the Customer 1st experience. Establish and monitor quality assurance standards and ensure compliance with safety and company policies. Lead and develop department associates, set performance goals, and empower staff to meet or exceed targets. Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management and respond to questions about products sold within the department. Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor; stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads. Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on financial reports. Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and plan, organize and supervise the inventory process. Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud, and ensure a safe work environment. Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions and providing product knowledge. Qualifications Minimum: Effective communication skills; knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction); ability to handle stressful situations; must be at least 18 years of age. Desired: High school education or equivalent; management experience; retail experience; second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) preferred. Ability to establish performance goals, develop scheduling, train staff, and participate in performance appraisals. Adherence to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines; ability to create and communicate department plans and strategies to achieve targets. Understanding of store layout, product location, and ability to respond to questions and make product suggestions. Ability to create sales promotions, stay current with ads, and manage pricing changes; plan and supervise inventory and ensure accuracy of shelf tags and promotional signs.
