Laundry Aide

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Laundry Aide to support our laundry and linen services in our long-term care, nursing home, and rehabilitation center settings. As a Laundry Aide, you will be responsible for washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident and facility linens, while maintaining infection control and cleanliness standards throughout the laundry area.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, sort, and wash soiled linens, towels, and resident clothing according to facility procedures

• Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently

• Fold, label, and distribute clean linens and clothing to appropriate units or residents

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laundry area

• Follow infection control procedures when handling soiled linens

• Report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor

• Inspect linens and clothing for damage and set aside items needing repair or replacement

• Complete forms, logs, and records as required

Requirements:

• Experience in a laundry or housekeeping setting is a plus!

• Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program required

• Completion of orientation required by company policy

• Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment

• Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire

• Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check

• Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move laundry loads
