Special Education Teacher | Tonopah, AZ

Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Tonopah, Arizona
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday | Full-Time
Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Additional Schedule Requirement: One Thursday per week until 4:30 PM
Grade Level: K–8
Classroom Setting: Multiple Disabilities
Education Requirement: Master’s Degree Required

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in a K–8 Multiple Disabilities classroom. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, foster student independence, and collaborate with a strong support team to meet the academic, functional, and behavioral needs of students.

Classroom Details

• K–8 Multiple Disabilities classroom
• Caseload of approximately 9 students
• Strong classroom support including:
  • 5 paraprofessionals
  • 1 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Collaborative environment focused on individualized student growth

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals.
• Provide academic, functional, and life skills instruction based on student needs.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, nursing staff, related service providers, and families.
• Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and medical needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required.
• Valid Arizona Special Education certification preferred.
• Experience working with students with multiple disabilities preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary support team.
