Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Repair Station Quality System ensuring full compliance with FAA EASA AS9110 SMS Military and other applicable regulatory and customer requirements. This role manages the internal audit program vendor/supplier audits staff training and the development and implementation of new certifications and approvals to support the repair stations growth. The QA Manager provides quality leadership across all departments while also safeguarding employee safety and regulatory compliance. The QA Manager may not delegate their duties and responsibilities to any other person without the written authority of the Director of Quality. Duties & Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Quality Oversight

• Administer update and disseminate the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM).
• Ensure compliance with FAR 145.161 by maintaining the roster of Authorized Supervisory and Inspection Personnel.
• Maintain the Inspector and Technician Stamp program.
• Coordinate and respond to FAA inspections regulatory requests and customer/third-party audits.
• Ensure work accomplished outside the fixed repair station location is performed in compliance with the RSQCM.
• Ensure all aspects of the RSQCM are implemented and being followed within the organization.
• Oversee the calibration program (Primary Calibration) ensuring required calibrations and checks are performed documented and current.
• Develop implement and manage the Repair Station Safety Management System (SMS) in alignment with FAA EASA and industry best practices.
• Ensure inspectors performing return-to-service inspections are fully qualified and trained in accordance with FAR requirements.

Auditing & Surveillance

• Manage the internal self-audit program to maintain compliance and readiness for regulatory review.
• Conduct vendor/supplier audits to evaluate external maintenance organizations contractors and vendors before and during use.
• Ensure oversight of all contractors performing maintenance functions.
• Oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes verify effectiveness and monitor the overall QA system.
• Perform gap analyses and implement immediate improvements where deficiencies are identified.
• Monitor investigate and analyze safety reports hazards and incidents ensuring corrective actions are documented and implemented
• Report safety performance metrics to management and participate in safety review

Certifications & Approvals

• Lead development application and implementation of new certifications and approvals including:
  • AS9110 Quality Management System.
  • Military certifications/approvals required for defense programs.
  • International regulatory certifications (EASA CAAC TCCA DGCA etc.).
• Serve as primary liaison with certifying bodies military authorities regulators and customers during audits and approval processes.
• Ensure QMS documentation and processes align with evolving certification and regulatory requirements.

Training & Personnel Development

• Administer and oversee the Repair Station Training Program in compliance with FAR 145.163.
• Train and assist personnel in proper procedures methods and practices for their duties.
• Continuously review and update training programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Provide SMS training to all levels of staff to ensure awareness and engagement.
• Develop and maintain work instructions for all processes and procedures performed within the repair station.
• Maintain employment training qualification and OSHA records.
• Ensure all inspectors and personnel performing safety-sensitive functions are properly trained current and authorized.
• Deliver training sessions workshops and awareness campaigns to reinforce a strong compliance culture.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Manage and develop QA department personnel including staffing mentoring and technical training.
• Provide regulatory affairs oversight and quality leadership across operations engineering and commercial functions.
• Lead multidisciplinary and multicultural teams to improve quality standards and compliance.
• Drive Lean MRO and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Participate in the Management Review Process contributing to regulatory strategies product submissions licenses and registrations.
• Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure team and individual performance.
• Work with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) program ensuring a safety-conscious environment.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Aviation Maintenance Engineering Quality or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 57 years of quality management experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station or aerospace MRO environment.
• Strong knowledge of FAA EASA military and other international regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining AS9110/ISO QMS standards.
• Demonstrated experience leading internal and vendor audits.
• Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to work in both office and repair station production environments.
• Ability to move between administrative areas and shop floor as required.
• Occasional travel for training audits customer regulatory and military meetings.
