Neuro Step Down Graduate Nurse (Full-Time) (Days or Nights)

Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an acute care hospital in St. Louis County that offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound, and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and a separate pediatric emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The Neuro unit is a 24-bed unit that provides care to neurological patients such as stroke, seizure, multiple sclerosis, as well as general medicine patients. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose: The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the nursing standards after completing a nursing program and before licensure. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post-treatment home‑care needs and medication administration. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs. Develops and implements individualized plans of care in collaboration with other healthcare team members, following established nursing guidelines. Evaluates patients’ response and modifies care plans accordingly throughout the stay. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Minimum Requirements Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing. No experience required. No supervisory experience required. Must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited nursing school to remain employed in a HSO in Missouri. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
