With a strong legacy of innovation, quality, and service, Komline-Sanderson commits to operational excellence and long‑term value creation Position The Manual Machinist I is responsible for setting up and operating conventional machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify precision components used in industrial equipment and systems. Roles and Responsibilities * Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and saws * Manufacture, modify, and repair metal components to precise tolerances according to engineering drawings and specifications * Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, sketches, and technical documents * Select appropriate tooling, materials, speeds, and feeds for machining operations * Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other inspection equipment * Conduct routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and organized work environment * Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and dimensional requirements * Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues to minimize downtime and production delays * Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to support manufacturing operations * Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations * Maintain accurate production and quality documentation * Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes, efficiency, and workplace safety Required Qualifications * 3+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment * 1-3 years of hands-on manual machining experience operating conventional machine shop equipment * High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in machining preferred * Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications * Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques * Knowledge of machining materials, tooling, cutting methods, and shop mathematics * Ability to maintain tight tolerances and produce high-quality work with minimal supervision * Understanding of OSHA safety standards and safe machine operation practices * Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during shifts * Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications * Forklift or overhead crane operation experience * Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience Equal Opportunity Statement: Komline is an EEO employer - M/F/Vets/Disabled
